Event's Details2017 has brought enormous changes to Washington and the nation. With challenges to the funding for the National Endowment for the Arts and other cultural agencies, federal advocacy has become more important than ever. Our collective advocacy efforts have ensured that the Endowments will not be eliminated for FY 2018. However, the fight continues as we expect new threats to arise for FY 2019.
Arts Advocacy Day brings arts advocates from across the country together for two days in Washington, D.C., uniting a broad cross section of America’s cultural and civic organizations with more than 700 grassroots advocates to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts.
By presenting a thoughtful unified message to members of Congress on Arts Advocacy Day, arts advocates can make their voices heard when Congress considers issues like education, job creation, creativity, and innovation throughout the year. We need you to add your voice to the advocacy efforts this year.
Hosted by Americans for the Arts in partnership with more than 85 national arts organizations, Arts Advocacy Day is your opportunity to receive crucial advocacy training from experts in the field and immediately put that training into practice. Attendees will meet with their U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives to garner support for issues like arts education policy, the charitable tax deduction, and funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
